Arsenal can defeat Liverpool in the title race if….

High-flying Liverpool can be defeated by the Gunners in the race for this season’s Premier League trophy if Unai Emery spends more money on world-class players.

That. was the comment made by former Arsenal player Nigel Winterburn who believes the Gunners have all it takes to leapfrog Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for the title.

The Gunners currently occupy the fifth position, compared to Manchester City and the Liverpool who are in the 2nd and 1st position respectively.

Winterburn wants the Gunners to splash more cash at the ongoing transfer market so as to lure many star players to the Emirates stadium before the winter market comes to a close.

The Gunners are yet to capture any player so far this month, though, Emery is being linked with moves for top midfielders including Yannick Carrasco and Denis Suarez.

As much as getting the two listed players — or any other top player — would bolster the Gunners qualities, I’m afraid it won’t be enough to help them beat Liverpool or City to glory.

The Reds are showing traits of a Champion. Despite the injury crises rocking the team, Klopp and his players often find ways to get positive results in all the games they’ve played so far.

City are equally doing great at the moment and Guardiola’s men aren’t looking like a team ready to let go of the title the won last season.

The Citizens are having a great season and they hope to defend their Premier League glory. Therefore, Winterburn’s suggestion sounds great but it’s very unachievable at least for this season.
