Arsenal in stunning swoop for £22m Liverpool target

Unai Emery’s wish to add a left full-back to his Arsenal team is evident in the numerous speculations that have been linked to the North London side within the past few weeks.

This is after the Gunners saw an end to their winning streak against Crystal Palace in the Premier League encounter as a result of the absence of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac to injuries.

Monreal is also believed to be ageing in addition to the speculations that he might be considering a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

However, in a bid to secure a replacement for him, Southampton left full-back Ryan Bertrand who is also a target of Liverpool has been identified as an ideal fit for the Gunners.

The England international joined the Saints from Chelsea in 2015 and has since become a mature player with impressive displays which has caught the attention of big clubs.

Ryan Bertrand has a total of 35 appearances across all competitions and he was able to pull about 4 assists.

He has got a release clause of about £20 million as he is still being contracted to the Saints until 2021. It is believed that it will be difficult to lure him away from the club because of his importance in the team.
