Arsenal legend names bad egg in Unai Emery’s path to success

Arsenal legend, Alan Smith has named playmaker, Mesut Ozil as the would-be obstacle in the way of Unai Emery to have his playing style established.

It is not enough that the German earns £350,000-a-week but the fact that he has failed to prove his worth in the Spaniard’s team. No wonder he was dropped for the win against West Ham United.

Emery has also insisted on a playing style that requires more hard work from his players to press although 90 minutes but it is still unclear if Ozil will be able to meet up with such a demand.

Smith who argued that the player will not be able to meet up lamented that he has become a liability to the club as he cannot be sold with his huge financial demands upon him.

The Arsenal legend admits that the German is a highly-talented player, but when out of form, could mean a minus to the team.

Ozil was reported to be involved in a bust-up with the Arsenal boss and was asked to leave but the report was soon denied on the ground that the player was only siccing and was permitted to return home to have himself treated.
