Arsenal will lose out on signature of James Rodriguez – report

The race might be over for the North London side Arsenal in the pursuit of Bayern Munich attacker James Rodriguez in this January winter transfer window.

The Gunners have longed being linked with the star player with speculations that the deal would be sealed in coming days.

However, latest reports hints that Italian Serie A outfit Napoli have already entered the race which will no longer be a smooth run for the English Premier League side.

Corriere dello Sport says Arsenal could lose out in their bid to sign James to the Serie A outfit because of the keen interest already shown by Napoli.

Also, James has got a relationship with Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti and seeks to link up with him again

The best of the Colombian’s season at Real Madrid was under manager Carlo Ancelotti with the memory expected to play a part in his decision making.

More so, the North London side are being limited by the fact that they have got no enough funds for this winter transfer window and that could affect their bid for quality players like James.

The Gunners team have made it clear that they will only participate actively in the coming summer transfer window.
