Atletico Madrid Eyeing Summer Move For 28-Year-Old Chelsea Defender

Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are eyeing a summer move for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso according to the Daily Mirror via Football London.

It was revealed that the Spaniards are confident that they can sign the 28-year-old left-back this summer.

Marcos Alonso would be the direct replacement for Lucas Hernandez at the club.

Lucas Hernandez is expected to join Bayern Munich this summer in a club-record deal and Atletico Madrid are in the market for a replacement for the utility defender.

His stock has risen a great deal since he played a big part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup winning feat for the French national team.

Apart from Lucas Hernandez, another Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis is expected to leave the club this summer.

Several players will leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

Veteran defenders Juanfran and Diego Godin have already said their goodbyes while star forward Antoine Griezmann is also expected to leave the Rojiblancos this summer.

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso could be one of the new faces at the club during this summer’s transfer window.

Marcos Alonso has been the first choice left-back at Chelsea until the last few weeks when he lost his place to Brazilian-born Italian international Emerson Palmieri.

He became a Chelsea player in the summer of 2016.
