Ex-Liverpool Midfielder On Target In Juventus Win

Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can was on target for Italian Serie A champions Juventus who opened a big lead at the top of the table with a convincing win over Udinese at home.

Juventus rested a lot of their first team players including Cristiano Ronaldo with an eye on their Champions League last 16 second leg clash with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Tuesday night.

Atletico Madrid had won the first leg in Spain 2-0 courtesy goals from Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin.

Juventus are on the brink of elimination despite the fact that they are one of the favourites to win the competition.

Ahead of the league game against Udinese on Friday night, Juventus manager Maximiliano Allegri left out key players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Mandzukic, Giorgio Chiellini and many more from his starting XI.

Without his key players, Juventus still had more than enough to beat Udinese.

Juventus thrash Udinese 4-1 at home to give the Old Lady a 19-point lead at the top of the table.

Young forward Moise Kean scored a brace in the first half to give Juventus a 2-0 lead before Emre Can added a third goal from the spot 67 minutes later after Moise Kean was fouled by Nicolas Opoku.

Blaise Matuidi made it 4-0 four minutes later before Udinese scored a consolation with six minutes left on the clock.

Emre Can spent four years at Liverpool before joining Juventus on a free transfer last summer.
