It is no longer news that Lyon have ended negotiations with Liverpool for Nabil Fekir’s deal.
While many Liverpool fans are still trying to move completely over the shocking development, it has been made known that the player has already chosen his shirt number before the announcement came.
Fekir was on the verge of finalising a £53 Million move to Merseyside, but his side confirmed few hours ago that they won’t sell him anymore.
Officials from Liverpool were in France last Friday to conduct a medical for the 24-year-old at a local hospital in Paris, but discovered some issues on his knee.
Although they decided not to allow the issue discourage them from signing the player, it was reported that the Anfield club tried renegotiating the Frenchman’s valuation with the Ligue 1 club.
According to reports circulating in the French media, Nabil was so close to joining Liverpool that he had even chosen his shirt number.
However, right now, a deal between both side is no longer realsitc.
The player himself is yet to issue a statement on the development. He was part of the French party who clashed with USA on Saturday but he refused speaking to newsmen after the 1-1 draw.
Last season, Nabil played 40 games for the Ligue 1 club and he scored 23 goals to help them qualify for next season’s Champions League.
