Liverpool Turn Down Loan Offer For 23-Year-Old Striker

Merseyside giants Liverpool have rejected a loan bid for one of their strikers according to the report from popular media platform ESPN.

It was revealed that the Reds turned down a temporary move for Belgian international star Divock Origi from Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The publication stated that the Reds wanted him to stay close to home (Anfield).

Galatasaray are looking for a new striker and they have identified the 23-year-old as a potential addition to their squad.

The French striker scored 32 goals for Galatasaray in all competitions last season only for him to move to Al Hilal FC of Saudi Arabia thus leaving a big goalscoring burden to fill.

Swiss international striker Eren Derdiyok has scored seven goals this season and he’s the only consistent goalscoring threat in the Turkish team.

Divock Origi would have been a fantastic addition to the Galatasaray squad but Liverpool didn’t sanction the move.

The 23-year-old has been on the fringes of the Liverpool first team since he returned from a season-long loan deal from German Bundesliga side VFL Wolfsburg this summer.

He scored just six goals for Wolfsburg throughout last season.

Divock Origi has played 83 minutes of football for Liverpool this season scoring once and providing an assist.

His lone goal came in dramatic fashion when he capitalised on a goalkeeping error from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to score deep into injury time and give Liverpool a 1-0 win over their Merseyside rivals in the Premier League.
