Man City In Talks To Sign £44m Chelsea Target

Premier League champions Manchester City want to sign a new right-back ahead of the new season and the Citizens have targeted Juventus defender Joao Cancelo.

Joao Cancelo is the first choice right-back at Italian champions Juventus following his transfer from Valencia last summer.

According to the publication from popular media outlet Goal, Manchester City are in talks with Juventus to sign Joao Cancelo for a fee believed to be around €50m (£44m).

Portuguese international Joao Cancelo has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea but it seems like the right-back will move to Manchester City.

The Citizens secured an unprecedented domestic treble during the just concluded campaign but that has not stopped them from bolstering their squad with new players.

Manchester City won the Premier League title on the final day of the season after the 4-1 thrashing of hosts Brighton and Hove Albion.

The win over Brighton ensured that they finished the league as champions ahead of nearest challengers Liverpool by just a solitary point.

Manchester City became the first team to win and retain the Premier League title in a decade.

The Citizens also won the Carabao Cup before securing a third domestic trophy by winning the FA Cup via a 6-0 win over Watford in their FA Cup final clash.
