Mata gives United condition for stay

Juan Mata is reported to have handed a condition for a stay to his English Premier League side Man United as they hope to keep him at the club.

Reports claim the club are ready to hand him a year contract extension but he would not accept that until they are able to increase it to a two-year deal.

Juan Mata is a very important Red Devils player and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to work with him but with his contract set to end, he could be leaving the club is they fail to agree on a new deal.

The star player is 30 and the club are of the opinion that his playing days are limited which is the reason why he would be given a year extension.

But the star player is of the opinion that he can be trusted to be handed a 2-year deal to stay at the club.

However, Juan Mata’s agent has revealed that his client had two opportunities to move to the Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona but he turned down the move for a stay at the English Premier League.

Meanwhile, Mata could be up against Barcelona when the two sides clash in the quarter-finals of the Champions League later on Wednesday.
