Matthew Willock has eventually left Old Trafford and has joined Scottish side St Mirren on a season-long loan.
The talented midfielder won’t find it too difficult to settle at Scotland having spent the second half of last term on loan at another Scottish club – St Johnstone.
Speaking about the situation, the 21-year-old expressed how excited he is to have joined St Mirren this summer, and that he is fully aware of what he is ‘coming into’
Matthew said he isn’t ignorant of the tempo of the Scottish premier league – which is ‘really quick’, and he hopes his experience at St Johnstone would help him settle quickly.
Willock is a talented youngster who brings a physicality to the center of the park. He is strong, powerful and on different occasions, gives opponents alot of headaches.
Moving to St Mirren on a season-long loan is a good idea that will help his development and his career. Should he remain at Old Trafford, he will obviously spend all the time sitting on the bench.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho already have a midfield department filled with ‘strong men’, the likes of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Fred, Ander Herrera and even Scott McTominay.
