African Star Delighted With First Liverpool Goal

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has expressed his delight at his first goal for the club during the Premier League win at Southampton on Friday night.

The Guinean international player found the back of the net in the first half of the league encounter to help his club to three previous points in the race for the Premier League title.

Southampton had taken a shock ninth-minute lead through Shane Long off an assist from club skipper Pierre Emile Hojbjerg.

Shane Long also had the opportunity to add a second goal for his team but the Republic of Ireland international was unable to make Liverpool pay for their slack defending.

That miss came back to haunt Shane Long and Southampton after Naby Keita scored the equaliser for the Reds with six first-half minutes left to play.

It was the Guinean international star’s first goal in the colours of Liverpool since he joined them last summer.

Mohamed Salah added a second goal for Liverpool with ten minutes left on the clock as he broke his eight-game goal drought for the Reds.

Substitute and club captain Jordan Henderson wrapped up the win six minutes later to take Liverpool ahead of Manchester City at the Premier League summit.

After the game, Naby Keita took to his official Instagram page to express his delight with his first goal for Liverpool.
