Revealed: Chelsea To Offer Defender New Deal Amidst Man Utd Interest

West London giants Chelsea have concluded plans to offer young defender Reece James a new contract to commit his long-term future to the club.

This is according to the publication from the stables of popular English news portal Independent which claimed that Premier League rivals Manchester United are monitoring his situation at Chelsea.

Reece James impressed a great deal while he was on loan at English Championship club Wigan Athletic.

The 18-year-old spent the whole of the season on loan at former FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic.

Chelsea have a transfer ban hanging over their head and the West Londoners could fast-track the aforementioned James into the squad.

The Blues have been handed a two-window transfer ban for misgivings relating to underage transfers.

The aforementioned publication revealed that Chelsea see Reece James as the long-term successor to Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back and that they are ready to offer him a new deal despite the fact that he still has three years on his existing contract.

Recce James proved his worth at Wigan this season as he established himself as one of the best right-backs in the second tier of English football.

The Red Devils have been linked with the teenage defender with Manchester United glaringly in need of a new right-back.
