United seek return of Edwin van der Sar

English Premier League outfit Man United are reportedly pushing to land their former player and legend Edwin van der Sar as they hope to engage in the coming summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have created the role of a director of football and hope as they begin the restructuring of the club so as to have recruitment responsibilities defined. This became necessary after former manager Jose Mourinho had a rift with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward over the failure to sanction some transfer deals.

However, as the summer transfer window fast approaches with the Red devils’ team hoping to have an overhaul of his squad, the Red Devils team seek the return of Edwin van der Sar to take up the role so that they can be guided as a football club.

Edwin van der Sar currently works with Ajax but Man United hope to have him return to the Old Trafford again after he had admitted of his wish to return to his former club earlier in the month.

Meanwhile, Man United have been linked with a number of interests but a decision on who to bring in is still unknown but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hints that talks have already begun with some players.
