Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk believes that the Reds can go all the way in two competitions namely the Premier League and the Champions League.
Van Dijk talked up the possibility of winning two trophies in his post-match reaction after his team saw off FC Porto in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie.
Liverpool had earlier moved a step a close to a semifinal berth with a 2-0 win over the Portuguese champions courtesy first-half goals from Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino.
After the game, Dutch international Van Dijk told reporters that target is to win both the Premier League and Champions League titles.
The former Groningen and Southampton player also stated that the Liverpool players can stay at home if they don’t believe in the Reds’ ability to win the aforementioned competitions.
Liverpool are at the top of the Premier League table after the 3-1 comeback win over Southampton on Friday night.
They have a two-point lead over holders Manchester City in the race for the league title.
The Reds have a commanding lead over FC Porto ahead of the second leg in Portugal next week.
Liverpool have nine games to play potentially in the quest to win the two trophies being targeted by Van Dijk.
