PL club go ahead of United, others for 16-goal striker

West Ham United are all over ahead of the coming January window in search of players to equip their team for the second stanza of the 2018/2019 season.

This time, they are reported to have gone ahead of Manchester United in a bid for Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa according to Sport Mediaset.

The report stated that the striker would not be stopped if he intends to leave the San Siro come January, a development that has encouraged West Ham.

The Brazilian forward who is currently on loan with Santos and expected to return in the New Year has scored a total of 16 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are believed to be willing to do business with the Brazilian but will only let him go if the right price is placed on the table as they are not ready to take less than the £29.5 million they paid to bring him to the club.

Meanwhile, United are not alone in the race for Barbosa who is known as ‘Gabigol’ as he is also being monitored by Everton, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Sporting Lisbon.

United are expected to still win the race if they show keen interest in the player as they have got a huge sum to spend in the January transfer market.
