63-year-old Boss Explains Why Arsenal Lost To Manchester City

English manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that Arsenal lost to Manchester City due to Unai Emery’s playing style.

The Gunners fell to a 2-0 defeat in their first game of the Premier League, raising eyebrows over the style they chose to play against the league champions.

Allardyce who is known for his traditional English style of play has criticised Arsenal wanting to play out from the back, blasting Emery for choosing to play that kind of style against Manchester City who are a high pressing side.

Arsenal players were clearly uncomfortable on the ball as Raheem Sterling and Bernado Silva helped City to a resounding victory.

Emery who joined Arsenal after getting the boot at Paris Saint Germain has been welcomed to the Premier League with a baptism of fire as they meet with Chelsea in their second game of the season, in what could see them fall into relegation zone if they fail to secure a favourable result against the Blues.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will hope his boys continue same fashion when they meet Huddersfield at Etihad Stadium.

There are reports that Emery might need to make some changes in their next game against Chelsea, with the likes of Lucas Torreira and Alex Lacazetter touted to start the game at Stamford Bridge.
