Chelsea new manager, Maurizio Sarri on his arrival in the English Premier League had made the move to re-sign his former Napoli player, Gonzalo Higuain from the Italian club, Juventus.
However, the move didn’t work out for the Blues, Juve had preferred to loan the Argentina international to another Italian club, AC Milan over Chelsea.
The top-rated striker in a recent statement revealed why he didn’t move to England but chose to remain in Italy.
According to Higuian only coach Maurizio Sarri wanted him at Chelsea which is a contrast to the situation at AC Milan where ‘everyone wanted him.’
The Argentina international in his statement said, ‘Everybody wanted me at AC Milan, while in London I was only wanted by the manager.’
He added that AC Milan insisted they wanted to sign him and according to Higuain the combine efforts from Elliott, Leonardo, Maldini, and Gattuso made the deal work out.
The Argentina star also disclosed that Maurizio Sarri is the best manager he ever had in his career.
He disclosed that Sarri and AC Milan coach, Gattuso have the same aim which is ‘they both always want to win.’
If Gonzalo Higuain had moved to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, he would have turned out to be Sarri most preferred striker ahead of underperforming strikers; Morata and Giroud.
