9 goals in 9 matches: Why Liverpool must beat rivals to this youngster’s signature

A Whole lot of European clubs are being linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s striker Luka Jovic ahead of the upcoming transfer market.

The youngster has taken the German Bundesliga by storm as he has found the back of the net nine times this season. His wonderful goalscoring record has put most clubs on the edge of their sits, monitoring his development with the Bundesliga side.

Surprisingly, the 20-year-old is at the top of the Bundesliga scorers’ chart ahead of well-established strikers including Alassane Plea, Marco Reus, Paco Alcacer, Timo Werner and Robert Lewandowski.

The Serbian is in the last year of his two-year loan deal from Benfica but he might fail to return back to the Portuguese giants in the summer as result of many offers trooping in for his signature.

According to reports, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are desperately in the race for his signature but it is yet to be seen if Benfica would afford to lose him in as soon as January transfer begins.

With Firmino’s dwindling form and Mo Salah’s not-too-impressive goalscoring ratio, Jurgen Klopp needs to double his pace in the race for the youngster’s signature.

This season has seen both players struggle for form and that isn’t a good sign for Klopp, who is desperately seeking his first silverware as Liverpool manager.

Both players scored 47 League goals within themselves throughout last season but that doesn’t seem achievable this season should they continue with their current lacklustre performances in front of goal.

Though Daniel Sturridge looks reborn and in-form after two years of loan deal, there is no assurance the England international will maintain his fine form throughout the campaign.

As for Dominic Solanke, the youngster hasn’t done enough to win Klopp’s trust and he might continue to be a bit-part player at Anfield for the rest of the season.

Considering his heroic displays for England U-20 team during the recently concluded international break, many Anfield faithful are calling on their manager to give the youngster more chances to prove his worth. However, their cry continues to get a deaf man’s reaction from Jurgen Klopp, who doesn’t rate the former Chelsea player.

Sadio Mane seems to be the only Liverpool striker that has continued this season from where he stopped last season, however, he has blown hot and cold so far.

The Senegalese striker remains a great asset to the team but Klopp needs the young but proven goalscorer in his mission to challenge City for the Premier League glory.

It is said that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is keenly interested in Jovic’s signature as his team currently lack top striker to complements Harry Kane’s effort.

Having failed to sign a new player during the summer transfer window, the Argentine manager relied solidly on the England’s hitman for goals.

He’s therefore set to beat other suitors to the Serbian star — who has an impressive goalscoring ratio of one goal pér game — in January but Klopp must do all he could to ensure he hijacks the player’s proposed switch to the Wembley Stadium.

Bringing Jovic to Anfield will surely add more firepower to the Reds attacking prowess as the season progresses. The youngster will equally bring intense competition to the starting lineup
