Italian Serie A giants are interested in a move for Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren this summer according to the publication from Sky Sports.

It was revealed that the Croatian World Cup star has emerged as a top transfer target for AC Milan who are keen to rebuild their squad in the wake of the exit of club legend Gennaro Gattuso.

Dejan Lovren was a regular fixture for the Croatian national team at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Croatia reached the final of the tournament before they were beaten 4-2 by eventual champions France.

Seven-time European champions AC Milan want to sign him this summer and Liverpool have slapped a £25m price on the 29-year-old centre back.

The aforementioned Gattuso resigned as AC Milan manager at the end of the latest Italian Serie A season after leading the club to fifth position which was not enough for Champions League football for next season.

Gennaro Gattuso had two years left on his AC Milan contract and he’s expected to be replaced by Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo.

Apart from Dejan Lovren, AC Milan are also interested in a move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira who recently admitted that he missed the lifestyle in Italy after just one season in the Premier League.
