Three African players have set a new Premier League record after the latest set of games at the weekend.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have scored 20 or more goals in the Premier League this season thus setting a record in the competition.

It’s the first time three players from the same continent have scored 20 or more goals in the Premier League.

Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang notched his 20th goal of the season when he gave Arsenal the lead from the penalty spot during the disappointing 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion at home.

The Gunners were awarded a penalty after Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal was tripped in the box.

Aubameyang has now scored 26 goals for Arsenal in all competitions this season.

Egyptian international Salah was also on target for Liverpool at the weekend after he scored one of the goals to give the Reds a 3-2 win over hosts Newcastle United.

Salah has now scored 22 goals in the Premier League this season and he’s the leading goalscorer in the competition.

His Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane didn’t score at the weekend but he also has 20+ goals this season.

The Senegalese international has scored 20 goals in the Premier League this term.
