Domagoj Vida

Agent of Domagoj Vida has revealed that an offer around €20million could tempt the player away from Besiktas.

The Croatian defender has been tipped to make a move before the end of the summer window, with earlier reports that Liverpool were considering a move for the centre-back.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is understood to be wary of his current crop of defensive players and wants a new experienced face in the backline ahead of the new season.

Despite signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund, Emery is not confident in the defensive abilities of Shkodran Mustafi amid report that the German defender may be shipped out of the Emirates.

It is also understood that Emery believes the likes of Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and Konstantinos Mavropanos are not ready to be actively involved in first-team football and will have to gain more experience.

Following speculation over Vida’s future at Besiktas, his agent Ugur Avadan has revealed that an offer of €20 million will be enough to prise the defender away from Turkey.

With Laurent Koscielny ruled out of action till December, it is believed that Emery will pressure the Arsenal board to bring in some experience at the back before the end of the summer window.
