Arsenal get share of UEFA fine

North London outfit Arsenal have been fined by UEFA to pay £12,966 for a late kick-off and a pitch invasion during the Europa League tie against Qarabag at the Emirates Stadium in December.

It would be recalled that an individual hand invaded the pitch on the match day with a flag of the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. The region had resulted in a political conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the reason why Henrikh Mkhitaryan did not travel for the first leg.

However, Arsenal won the game by 1-0 and finished top of Group E to qualify for the round of 16 but they were defeated 3-1 by Rennes and might not secure qualification to the next round.

Although, manager Unai Emery is positive that his side will still secure qualification to the next round as they hope to draw inspiration from Man United and turn the table around by securing a convincing win for a qualification at the Emirates Stadium.

A win for the North London outfit will have them stand a better chance of winning the Europa League so as to gain automatic qualification to the Champions League next season as they struggle to gain a qualification by finishing in the top four of the Premier League.
