Nicolas Tagliafico

Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are reportedly making moves to hijack the deal for Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico who has been on Arsenal radar for some weeks.

Los Rojiblancos are desperate for a new defender knowing that star player Filipe Luis is already running out of age having already clocked 33 while the North London side are making efforts to replace Spanish defender Nacho Monreal with the highly rated left full-back.

Diego Simeon is not leaving anything to chance to have the player as he is reported to have had his bid set and will move in on the player once the winter transfer window reopens in coming weeks.

Nicolas Tagliafico has got a price tag of about £25 million with fears that the fee might shoot up with the increasing interest in the footballer but that will not be enough to deter the Spanish and English side from submitting their bid for the footballer.

Just this season alone, Nicolas Tagliafico has made a total of 14 appearances in all competition and has found the back of the net twice with two other assists.

However, Arsenal are believed to be ahead in the race for the player with reports that Gunners boss has a relationship with Nicolas Tagliafico.
