Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has beaten teammate Alexandre Lacazette to win the club’s player of the month of October.

This was announced on the Arsenal official website on Tuesday morning after the 29-year-old scored five times as we won five and drew one of our six games over the course of the month.

Suggestions are that the French striker will take the nod having scored a number of goals this season, inclusive with the last minute’s goal against Liverpool in the last Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium

However, the former Borussia Dortmund striker struck a brace after coming off the bench against Fulham, and then repeated the trick against Leicester City, the second of which is bound to be a contender for Goal of the Season.

He was also on target in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and that gave him a total of 55 per cent of the votes.

Surprisingly, German midfielder Mesut Ozil was able to amass more votes than the former Lyon striker having been accused of not being consistent in his play especially with his woeful performance in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

Emery has expressed delight with his players, stating that the competition is good for the team
