Italian international midfielder Nicolo Barella is reportedly ready to snub a potential transfer to Chelsea in the current transfer window.

According to the publication from Football London, Barella is not sure that he would get much playing time under Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Nicolo Barella is a 21-year-old midfielder that plays for Italian Serie A outfit Cagliari Calcio at the moment.
He has been a key performer for Cagliari since he broke into the first team two seasons ago.

Chelsea are said to be plotting a transfer for him as a replacement for Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas who is on his way to French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.

Fabregas has less than six months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 31-year-old will leave Chelsea for Monaco after the Principality club offered him a three-year contract in comparison to the one-year extension that he was offered to stay with the Blues.

His place in the Chelsea squad could be taken by Nicolo Barella who has been the subject of transfer interests from other clubs as well.

Premier League leaders Liverpool and the Italian Serie A duo of Inter Milan and Juventus have all been linked with the young Italian midfielder.
