Chelsea are targeting a move for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella and the Blues are ready to splash huge cash on his services.

The Blues are financially buoyant to complete their move for the playmaker but they face competition from Inter Milan who are also in the race to sign the youngster.

However, there is good news for Maurizio Sarri and his employers concerning the youngster’s future. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Barella has turned down the chance to join the Serie A side because he want to play for the Blues.

The Italian media claimed that the box-to-box midfielder is obsessed with a move to Premier League and he can’t let this chance slips off his hands.

Sarri released Cesc Fabregas earlier in the month, so, the young man is tipped to join the Blues this month to cover up for the departed Spaniard.

In the same report, Cagliari has revealed Barella’s price tag. It is said that the Serie A outfits are looking to accept £50m from Chelsea for his signature.

Considering the amount the West London club spent on Dembele’s signature some weeks ago, it won’t be surprising seeing Abramovich meet Cagliari’s asking price.

Barella is rated as one of the best midfielders in the Italian League and he will surely be an upgrade to Cesc Fabregas should he join the Blues in the January transfer market.

Inter Milan are not giving up in the chase for the player’s signature despite the report that he wants a move to Stamford Bridge.

Spaletti is very keen on his signature and he won’t let go of the youngster without putting up a commendable fight.
