Christian Pulisic

Chelsea have made the first major transfer of the January window after they secured a big money move for Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic.

American international Christian Pulisic was one of the most sought-after young talents on the European football scene before his transfer to Chelsea was confirmed.

He has scored 10 goals and provided 16 assists in 81 games in all competitions since he broke into the Borussia Dortmund team during the 2015/16 season.

The Blues have secured his transfer from German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund in a deal reported to be around £57.6m thus making him the third most expensive signing for Chelsea behind the Spanish duo of Alvaro Morata (£70m) and Kepa Arribazalaga (£71m).

Former Juventus striker Morata joined Chelsea from Champions League leaders Real Madrid in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth £70m, while shot stopper Kepa signed for the 2012 European champions in a club record deal.

Chelsea activated the £71m release clause in his contract at Spanish La Liga side Athletic Bilbao to sign him at the start of the season.

Both players (Alvaro Morata and Kepa Arrizabalaga) have enjoyed contrasting fortunes in the colours of the club since they joined the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Morata has largely struggled while his compatriot has impressed in the Cheaper goal.
