Chelsea target Paredes has undergone medical amidst rumors he could be heading to Chelsea as Fabregas replacement.

Don’t be deceived, the medical isn’t one of the processes that must be taken by players who are about joining a new club.

Leandro’s medical was conducted by Zenit Saint Petersburg’s hierarchy for their players so as to ensure they are in good shape all through their vacation period.

Russian League is currently observing its mid-season break and some players are on vacation.

As for Zenit St Petersburg, they are engaged in friendly matches in preparation for their upcoming Europa League’s round-32 fixture against Fenerbahce next month.

The 24-year-old Argentinian midfielder was tipped as the best player to fill the vacuum which was created by Fabregas’ move to Monaco last week.

Some reporters revealed that Sarri has tabled £26.8m for his services. They also said the player has reached personal terms with the Blues and a move to Stamford Bridge is imminent.

Chelsea fans can’t wait to see Paredes undergo his Chelsea medical ahead of his move to the West London outfits.

They took to Twitter to comment on the player’s proposed move to Sarri’s team in the January transaction period.

One fan tweeted: “Give us Paredes. We need him. Let him go to Chelsea. Please.”

Another fan anticipates his switch to Chelsea has be added: “Welcome to Chelsea.”

Parades joined Zenit Saint Petersburg from Roma for £24m last season. He has featured in 61 games and has scored 10 goals in all competitions
