Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker Edinson Cavani is on the verge of leaving the club during this summer’s transfer window after it was revealed that he has agreed on a deal to join Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid this summer.

According to the publication from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Edinson Cavani will join Atletico Madrid this summer if Diego Costa leaves the club.

Uruguayan international Cavani is the all-time topscorer for PSG with 193 goals but he might have played his last game for the French capital club.

He has one year left on his current deal at the Parc des Princes and the French giants will have to sell him or risk losing him for free since both parties are reluctant to agree to a new deal.

Edinson Cavani has been a key player for PSG since joining from Italian Serie A giants Napoli.

He could replace Diego Costa who’s said to be one of the Atletico Madrid players considering their respective futures at the club.

Diego Costa has been at Atletico Madrid for 18 months since he re-signed for the Rojiblancos from Chelsea.

The Brazilian-born Spanish striker left Atletico Madrid for Chelsea in 2014 at the end of his first spell with the Spanish capital club.
