Dries Mertens

English Premier League side Arsenal target Dries Mertens has handed a big blow to the Gunners by hinting that he could snub their interest and move to West London side Chelsea when he eventually decides to leave Italy.

Dries Mertens is believed to be a big fan of Blues boss Maurizio Sarri and has hinted that he would be looking forward to a reunion as he will not extend his deal with the Italian Serie A side Napoli

It would be recalled that the West London side signed their manager from the Italian Serie A side in the summer and that has ensured that they are linked with a number of players in the team.

So far, Dries Mertens has impressed this season with 10 goals already under his belt and four assists in 19 appearances.

However, Arsenal are believed to be keen on the Belgian forward but from all indications, they could be set to miss out with the open declaration of love by the player for the Chelsea boss.

Dries Mertens hailed the Blues boss as a lover of football who always thinks about the game in the day and night hours.

The player added that he enjoyed working with the Italian boss and learnt a lot from him during their days in Naples.
