Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has played down the penalty he cost his team by stating that his side failed to win against Crystal Palace because they started slow.

Two goals from Pierre Emerick- Aubameyang and Xhaka were overshadowed by the two penalties conceded as a result of defensive errors by Mustafi and Xhaka.

The game which ended in a 2 – 2 draw ends the Gunners’ winning streak having had their 11th straight win against Sporting CP in the 1-0 Europa League on Thursday.

Although, the 12 games unbeaten run continues for the North London side but they failed to pick all three points by losing two.

It was observed that 25 of the 35 goals by the Emirates side this season were scored in the second half under new manager Unai Emery and that is what the issue is for Rob Holding who thinks his side always start slow.

He expressed disappointment at the end of the winning run but said they are only being consoled by the fact that it was not a defeat as he blamed the penalties for the club’s woes.

Holding is happy the fans had enjoyed the game, describing it as entertaining for them.

Arsenal will return to action for the Carabao clash against Blackpool at the Emirates Stadium before returning to face Liverpool at the weekend.
