Chelsea Legend Defends Sarri Against Recent Scrutiny

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has come to the defence of Blues manager Maurizio Sarri in the face of recent criticism.

In an exclusive interview with popular media portal Goal, Frank Lampard said that Maurizio Sarri is a good manager before adding that he respects his style of play.

Lampard further said that the Italian tactician is a victim of his style of play known as Sarriball and that the Chelsea manager has not been blowing the trumpet of Sarriball.

Lampard has been able to lead the Rams to within two places of the Premier League promotion playoffs in the English Championship.

The former Chelsea player is banking on Sarri to come good at the club despite the pressure on him to perform as the Blues boss.

Recent reports claim that Sarri might not be at the club next season after an average campaign this term.

Chelsea are three points off the Champions League places on the Premier League table with eight games to go.

The Blues face Slavia Prague in the quarterfinals of the Europa League which is another route into Champions League football next season.
