Fred’s future in doubt, he must choose from two options ahead of transfer market

Fred

Manchester United were involved in a big-money transaction with Shaktar Donestk in the previous transfer market when they released £53m for Brazilian star Fred.

The price tag was too high, but you can’t blame Mourinho, Fred’s performances with the Ukrainian Champions were awesome and eye-catching.

Since his move to Old Trafford five months ago, the Brazilian has moved from being a starter to a player who hardly gets 20 minutes of action.

His display in the Red jersey have been so awful and disappointing that his future at Old Trafford is under intense pressure and uncertainty.

Having found himself behind Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Lingard and Marouane Fellaini in midfielders’ pecking order, Fred has only two options left for him.

The 25-year-old is definitely seeking to bring his career back on track as soon as possible, therefore, he must decide which one to choose between these two options — Up his game or Leave Old Trafford.

Up his game

It is high time Fred upped his game if he wants to be a force to reckon with in Mourinho’s team.

As much as it takes some time to adapt to a new environment, Fred shouldn’t take a whole season to get used to how things are done at Old Trafford.

He must begin to show us why it took Mourinho such huge price and a long time before he could sign with the Red Devils.

If he’s looking for inspiration to do so, he only needs to take a clue from his teammate Marcus Rashford who is now back in the team’s starting XI after a long spell on the substitute bench.

Rashford trained hard and proved his worth in training, leaving the Portuguese manager with no option but to integrate him back into his list of important players.

If he’s not inspired by Rashford’s story, he should turn to Anthony Martial who, against all odds, become a regular starter once again. The most important thing is that the 25-year-old midfielder must improve his performance ASAP

Exit Old Trafford

The bitter truth is that Fred might need to leave the Theater of Dreams by January, should he fail to improve.

Premier League seem too hard and stressful for the Brazilian to succeed, hence, he should decide to move elsewhere to rejuvenate his career.

The player is not living up to expectations, in fact, he has performed below expectations and his career is unfortunately going down the drain.

If he can’t prove himself at Old Trafford, there’s no reason sitting on the substitute bench for the rest of the season. He needs to move to a club that suits his playing style and are ready to play to his strength and abilities.
