Arsenal had an unconvincing first-half performance in their Europa League 1-0 win against Sporting CP but the situation had improved in the second half.

Manager Unai Emery revealed that he had challenged the players in the dressing room and that was what brought about an improvement in their play in addition to scoring a goal.

The North London side now top the group with 9 points in 3 games ahead of Sporting CP with 6 points after their home defeat.

For Arsenal, it is a way forward as the winning run stretches to 11 in all competitions as they seek to have it further stretched against Crystal Palace in the Premier League clash.

The North London manager disclosed that he had told the players to impose themselves in the game and stop being sluggish during the half time break.

The Spanish boss had lamented his side’s poor performance in the first half but delighted another win has been recorded as he clearly points out to the fact that it’s important to finish first in the group.

According to him, the progress continues for his side as he hopes to earn better results in coming games for his side, not minding what past results have been.
