Huge blow for Sarri as West Ham join Callum Wilson’s race

Callum Wilson

Chelsea now have a new competitor in the race for England’s international Callum Wilson as West Ham show interest in the player’s services.

Wilson is in fine form for the Cherries this season but his time at the Vitality Stadium could be overdue to numerous clubs vying for his signature

Chelsea was the first club to reveal their desire to lure the player out of Eddie Howe’s watch.

However, Sarri’s bid was rejected by Bournemouth who claimed the player is more valuable than Sarri’s £30m offer.

Last week, the struggling Premier League side slapped a huge and expensive price tag on Wilson’s signature as they reportedly told the Blues to pay nothing less than £75m if they must stand a chance of bringing the Englishman to West London.

West Ham United are now ṣset to compete with the Blues for Wilson’s services as Manuel Pellegrini continues to upgrade his team at the final half of the pitch.

The Hammers defeated Arsenal last weekend and new signing Samir Nasri was an influential figure throughout the game.

Irrespective of the Frenchman’s inspiring display, the former Manchester City manager believes Wilson is needed as he would add more firepower to his team.

It is certain the Hammers won’t release £75m for a player of his status but they are reportedly set to engage the Cherries in a round-table discussion so as to beat down the price tag.

Having failed to get the best from Alvaro Morata coupled with Giroud’s inconsistency and Hudson-Odoi’s uncertain future, Sarri is desperate to get a new striker at the ongoing transfer market
