Inter Milan turn down opportunity to sign Mesut Ozil

Unai Emery is believed to be in search of suitors for Mesut Ozil in order to raise fund to complete Denis Suarez and Yannick Carrasco’s signature in the January window.

The Spanish boss has contacted Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Napoli over the possibility of selling the playmaker — who is now surplus to requirements — in January.

Despite his desperate desire to let go of the 30-year-old, Emery hasn’t found any interested suitor yet and it has prevented him from completing his move for his prime targets.

Inter Milan are the latest club to turn down the chance to capture the retired Germany midfielder.

According to the Tuttosport, Ozil’s weekly demand is too high and the Nerrazurri can’t afford to reach a personal agreement with him.

Though the Serie A side are desperate to return to their glory days, they aren’t convinced Ozil deserves such steep weekly payment.

Ozil currently receives £350,000 as his weekly salary at the Emirates stadium and he’s unwilling to cut down the price whether he remains at Arsenal or he moves elsewhere.

The playmaker has managed just 1100 minutes of action this season —16 appearances in all competitions — scoring four goals and two assists.

This will surely be another sad news for Unai Emery who wants the player out of North London as soon as possible.

However, Ozil could still leave Emirates stadium before the end of the ongoing transfer window as many clubs will soon come for his signature due to his experience and obvious qualities.
