North London outfit Arsenal have been linked with a move for Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe defender Djene Dakonam and they are reported to be preparing a bid in order to land him as soon as the summer transfer window is opened.

Djene Dakonam has been impressive so far this season and has been sighted by the Gunners team to bring the solution to the problems in the Arsenal defence.

However, the Gunners are being challenged for his signature by other Premier League sides including Everton and Leicester City and there are fears that the North London outfit could lose out of the race for the former league champions.

The Foxes are reported to have joined the race and are keen to make a deal happen as well with claims that they are ready to meet with the £35 million asking price for his signature.

Arsenal have been limited by the funds with claims that manager Unai Emery will only be handed a £40 million fund to engage in the summer transfer window.

With the Spanish manager reported to being a big fan of Djene Dakonam, he could find a way around it to convince the club into releasing more funds so that they can challenge for a trophy next season.
