Liverpool Are Back Where They Belong

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that the Reds are firmly back to where they belong after their win over German champions Bayern Munich in their Champions League last 16 tie.

Klopp and Liverpool are into the last eight of the competition following their aggregate win over Bayern.

In his post-match thoughts, Klopp told reporters that Liverpool are now established as one of the elites on the European stage.

Jurgen Klopp showed why Bayern Munich were interested in him after his Liverpool side schooled the Bavarian giants in their second leg clash at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

The Reds beat Bayern 3-1 to secure their spot in the next round via a 3-1 aggregate win.

Both sides had played out a goalless draw in the first leg at Anfield last month.

Liverpool took the lead in the 26th minute through in-form Sadio Mane who had scored two goals against Burnley in their Premier League clash at the weekend.

His lead was cancelled out by an unfortunate own goal from Cameroonian defender Joel Matip.

Liverpool moved up the gears in the second half as they scored two goals to take the tie away from the Bavarian giants.

A Virgil Van Dijk header and another Sadio Mane strike was more than enough to take Liverpool into the last eight.
