Arsenal legend Paul Merson has explained in his opinion, why Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been struggling.

The former Chelsea player has been in one of the worst forms of his career, going a total of 8 games without finding the back of the net for once.

In his defence, Paul Merson stated that the player might be struggling because he has not enjoyed the support of his teammates, noting that the Belgium international has not been having the chances he ought to from the players.

Lukaku has been unable to help win games for his side with suggestions that he is living with the regret.

However, manager Jose Mourinho has stated he is unconcerned with the player’s dip in form, stressing that the Belgium man remains a hard worker and a good player who will bounce back in no time.

Meanwhile, suggestions are that the Belgium international is being affected by the controversies that surrounded the club as he is powerless over the negatives.

There are fears that the Red Devils will not qualify for the Champions League next season if their recent performance continues next few weeks with the Old Trafford side already out of the Carabao Cup as they were eliminated by Championship outfit, Derby County.
