English Premier League outfit Man United are in the race for the signature of Ajax star defender Matthijs de Ligt alongside Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona.
The Spanish outfit were earlier regarded as favorites for the signature of the young lad but they are receiving strong competition from the Red Devils who are desperate to land him in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona have got all the advantage ahead of Man United, including playing in the Champions League and having a better chance to win a title.
Notwithstanding, Man United are still tipped to stand a chance as well because of their readiness to meet with the asking price of the star defender.

It has been suggested that Matthijs de Ligt considers financial benefits in his consideration for a new team as that could be influential in determining the next destination for the star player.
Matthijs de Ligt has attracted a number of top European clubs including Liverpool after a very impressive season with Ajax.
