Faouzi Ghoulam

It appears Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is serious about bringing Faouzi Ghoulam down to Old Trafford this summer.

According to reports, the red devils are preparing their first bid to get the player’s signature.

The Napoli star player moved to the club back in 2014 and has made over 150 appearances for the club since he made the move.

Ghoulam has evolved into an important member at Napoli but has been heavily linked with a move away from the Italian side in recent months.

Manchester United are understood to be interested in the 27-year-old, while the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have also registered an interest in the talented left-back. But the red devils have reportedly held talks with his agent Jorge Mendes, and are regarded favourites to get his signature this summer.

France news outlet RMC Sport indicates United have kept close tabs on the Algerian for some time and are preparing a bid that is around £26million.

The African defender has been sidelined since last November when he injured his knee. Although he returned to training in February, he had another issue with the same knee and has been on the treatment table.

Ghoulam’s current deal at Napoli is meant to expire in 2022, but many sides appear ready to get him out of Italy.
