Hertha Berlin midfielder Marko Grujic is eager to return to Merseyside giants Liverpool to prove himself ahead of next season.

In his latest interview with popular media channel ESPN, the Serbian international player revealed that his long-term plan is to return to Liverpool to be a part of the first team.

Marko Grujic, 22, has impressed at German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin since he joined them on loan at the start of the season.

Hertha Berlin have already registered an interest in making his season-long loan deal permanent but it seems like the young midfielder wants to return to Liverpool to prove his worth.

His appearances have been limited by injury but that has not stopped him from churning out impressive performances for the German capital club whenever he’s fit.

Grujic has scored two goals and provided one assist in 12 games in the German Bundesliga this term.

The eight-cap Serbian international spent last season on loan at Welsh side Cardiff City as he helped them secure a return to the top flight of English football.

Marko Grujic was the first signing of the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool after joining the club from Serbian club Red Star Belgrade in 2016.

He spent a loan spell at Red Star Belgrade afterward.
