Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has held reconciliation talks with the club with both parties keen to put an end to their feud.

Argentine international Icardi and his agent (his wife) met with Inter CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Beppe Marotta on Wednesday to discuss his route back into the first team.

Mauro Icardi has missed the last five games at Inter Milan in the wake of the decision to drop him as the Nerazzurri captain.

The ex-Barcelona and Sampdoria player was taken off Inter Milan captaincy duties in February and was subsequently replaced by the club’s first-choice goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

Inter Milan confirmed the reconciliation talks between the player and club officials via their official Twitter handle.

Mauro Icardi has been linked with several European clubs as a result of his present predicament at Inter Milan.

West London giants Chelsea are one of those clubs touted as a possible transfer destination for the player.

He has a €110m release clause in his current contract at Inter Milan.

His current Inter Milan deal does not end until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Apart from Premier League club Chelsea, Mauro Icardi has also been linked with other major European sides like Champions League holders Real Madrid and Manchester United.
