Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been handed hope with the report of the availability of midfielder Marouane Fellaini for the Chelsea encounter at the weekend.

Fellaini has become a major part of the Mourinho team this season having won the confidence of the manager to secure more playing time.

The Belgium international was absent in his country’s 1-1 draw against Holland in Brussels on Tuesday as a result of a groin injury he suffered earlier which makes him short in his fitness level.

However, Belgium boss Robert Martinez has calmed nerves with his report that he expects the star player to be available and fit for the Old Trafford side when they travel to the Stamford Bridge at the weekend after the international break.

Martinez hinted that he had rested the player to ensure he is fully fit for the important weekend game for his Manchester club.

United have struggled so far this season, losing three of the 8 games played so far in this season, making the absence of Fellaini in a game as important as the league clash will be a major blow to the Portuguese manager’s team.

Mourinho’s future will continue to be a subject of speculations should he end the game with a defeat.
