Latest report have revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said the signing of Chile forward Alexis Sanchez is the biggest transfer he regrets in a long while.

The Portuguese manager had sanctioned a deal with Premier League rivals, Arsenal for a swap deal in January that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan leave the Old Trafford to the Emirates Stadium for Sanchez.

Since his arrival at the club, the former Arsenal player has not lived to expectations and he has been described as a bad buy for the club.

However, emerging reports reveal that the former Chelsea boss had secretly admitted that his wish was to have Ivan Perisic rather than the former Barcelona forward.

The Times reported that although the manager was happy to have signed Sanchez, his sincere wish would have been to have Perisic from the Italian side, Inter Milan.

Mourinho was aware that the Croatian has got some abilities that will help him function well at the club rather than the Chilean international.

However, Sanchez is now unhappy at United as he has not been able to win the heart of the manager to secure more playing time while the pattern of play at the Old Trafford has been unfavourable to him.

Sanchez is now reported to be wanting out of the club to French side PSG ahead of the coming transfer window.
