Naby Keita

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has thrown his weight behind midfielder Naby Keita in support of the Guinean international player who has made an underwhelming start to his career as a football player.

The 23-year-old has had a first season to forget for the Reds up till date.

Former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 manager Klopp spoke about Naby Keita in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Reds’ crucial Premier League clash with London club West Ham United slated for the Olympic Stadium on Monday evening.

Jurgen Klopp hinted that he’s prepared to wait for Naby Keita to find his rhythm in a Liverpool shirt.

Naby Keita became a Liverpool player at the start of the season after the Reds sealed a £53m move for him.

The talented midfielder joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga.

Keita started the season in the Liverpool starting XI but he has lost his way in the team at the moment.

He has struggled for form and fitness for a big part of this season.

The Guinean midfielder has started just 10 Premier League games including Wednesday’s disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Leicester City.

The Reds failed to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table via the aforementioned result.
