Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been sent to a Denmark prison where he will be spending 55 days.

Bendtner was involved in a mess with a taxi driver and ended up breaking his jaw after his refusal to pay the £5 fare that was billed on him.

The incident which happened on September 9 had the former Gunners who currently plays for Norwegian side Rosenborg pick a taxi at about 2am to his house after partying with his girlfriend.

Arguments started between Bendtner and the taxi driver when he accused him of passing through the wrong route to their destination. The 30-year-old therefore left the car alongside his model girlfriend but were pursued by the taxi driver to pay the fare.

Bendtner obviously got angry and gave the driver a hit which landed him in the police station and now in the prison.

The Denmark international was therefore asked to pay a compensation of about £176 despite stating that his act was in defence of an attack by the taxi driver.

Meanwhile, the driver was granted no jail term but he was fined £353 for making use of his phone while driving in addition to not wearing a seat belt.

There are indications that the forward will be distracted by all of the issues he is dipped into.
