Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has slammed manager Maurizio Sarri for the way he has been treated at the club this season.

The recently retired England international centre back blasted the Chelsea manager in an interview with the Telegraph as he accused the Italian tactician of a lack of respect for him.

Gary Cahill has been on the fringe of the Chelsea first team since Maurizio Sarri took charge of the team last summer.

The former Aston Villa defender told reporters that the memory of this season will be erased and that he will hold on to the FA Cup triumph of last season.

Gary Cahill is the fourth choice centre back in the Chelsea team behind Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz and Andreas Christensen.

He has two months left on his Chelsea contract which will run out this summer.

Cahill could still get his chance to play in the final three games of the season with the English defender now third choice centre back behind David Luiz and Andreas Christensen following the injury to German international player Rudiger.

The Chelsea defender sustained a knee injury during the last league game against Manchester United and he’s expected to miss the final games of the season in both the Premier League and the Europa League.
