Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders has hinted that the Reds could be interested in a move for highly-rated Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Pep Lijnders is no stranger to Ruben Neves having worked with the midfielder when he was at Portuguese champions FC Porto between 2008 and 2014.

The Reds told Portuguese newspaper O’Jogo about the qualities possessed by Ruben Neves who has been a key player for Wolves this season in their first campaign back with the big boys of English football.

Ruben Neves is a Portuguese international and he was part of the Wolves side that gained promotion to the Premier League last summer by winning the Championship title last season.

It was his first season at the club after Wolves splashed a then club-record deal of over £15m on him.

Ruben Neves has been attracting the interest of the big Premier League clubs this season as a result of his impressive outings for his Midlands club.

Manchester United and Manchester City have all been strongly linked with the 22-year-old.

Pep Lijnders, while speaking about Ruben Neves, revealed that Liverpool is looking to boost their squad with players of that calibre to suggest that the Reds are also looking at the possibility of signing him.
